Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Mandarin For Trip ("we", "us") collects when you visit mandarinfortrip.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
- You can read every page on this site without an account and without giving us your name.
- We collect the usual technical data any web host records, plus page analytics.
- Advertising and analytics cookies may be set by third parties, including Google, and you can opt out of personalized advertising.
- If you email or use the contact form, we hold your message and reply to it.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
The only personal information we ask for is what you choose to send. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address, the subject line and the content of your message. That is stored in our email inbox so we can reply and keep track of corrections.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs: your IP address, the browser and operating system you use, the pages you request, the page you arrived from, and the time of the request. These logs are used for security, for diagnosing faults and for understanding roughly how many people visit.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. This site uses them for three purposes: remembering interface preferences, measuring traffic, and — where advertising is enabled — serving and measuring ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still work, though some preferences may reset.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site is supported by display advertising. When advertising is active, it is delivered by Google AdSense and its partners.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Where required by law, a consent banner is shown before advertising cookies are set, and you can decline.
If you are located in a region that requires consent for advertising cookies, we ask for it before those cookies are placed. We do not control the cookies set by advertising partners; their own privacy policies govern that data.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages help travelers and which do not. Aggregate figures — page views, approximate country, referring source, device type — are what we look at. We are not interested in identifying individuals, and we do not combine analytics data with any contact details you send us.
How we use information
- To run, maintain and secure the site.
- To understand which content is useful so we can improve or retire pages.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To display advertising that keeps the site free to read.
- To meet legal obligations where they apply.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep things
Server logs are rotated and deleted on our host's normal cycle. Emails and contact form messages are kept for as long as they are useful — usually until the query is resolved, and longer if they led to a correction we want to track. You can ask us to delete a message you sent.
Service providers and third parties
We rely on a small number of external providers: a web host, an email provider, an analytics service and advertising partners. Each processes data under its own policy and only for the purpose we engage it. Links on this site may also take you to external websites we do not control; once you leave, their policies apply.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Because the data we hold is limited to messages you have sent us, these requests are usually straightforward.
To exercise any of these rights, email testat@qq.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable period, and within any deadline the law requires.
Under the GDPR you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Children
This site is written for adults planning travel. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to messages and account-free infrastructure is restricted. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the data we hold to a minimum, which is the most effective protection there is.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top of the page changes too. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
